Dear St. Mary Families,
The Diocese of Oakland and the Archdiocese of San Francisco posted on their websites a joint letter from Archbishop Cordileone and Bishop Barber.
Bishop Barber describes the letter content best,
"This joint letter addresses many questions that have arisen in our ministries concerning the Church's teachings on gender ideology. Our Pastoral Letter deals primarily with the body-soul unity of the human person and offers several resources that provide further clarity, including the doctrinal note, Moral Limits to Technological Manipulation of the Human Body, issued by the USCCB in March 2023."

Recently, some parishioners have been receiving emails purportedly from Fr. William, asking to purchase gift cards. If the target responds to the fake email or text, the sender will follow up with a request for some sort of monetary assistance, often for gift cards or iTune cards. Please know that neither Fr. William nor Fr. Bich, or any member of the staff will ever ask anyone for those types of favors. Please look carefully at the email address that generated the message; by including some familiar words, scammers make the address resemble a legitimate address, but it’s not the true address of the person supposedly sending the message. If you receive such a message from a person that you know, call the person to confirm and do not respond to the email or text; delete them immediately.
