Open to God's Word: Ordinary Time

The Church begins a stretch of Ordinary Time that will last for five months. The liturgical vigor of the Easter Season and the feasts of the Holy Trinity and the Body and Blood of Christ settles down into this long stretch that opens before us.

During Ordinary Time the life of Christ is broken open for us by one of the Gospel writers. This year we have been hearing the Gospel of Saint Mark.

As we settle into Ordinary Time let us be open to the power of the word of God to effect change within us. Let us pray that our faith will be strengthened as we grow more and more into faithful disciples.

St. Vincent de Paul Photo Gallery Comunidad Hispana

St. Vincent de Paul is running low on canned food in our pantry. They need the following: canned meats, chicken, tuna, ham, Spam; beef chili; canned pasta like ravioli and spaghetti with meat sauce; and canned fruit.

In troubled economic times, it's even more important to remember our friends in need. Thanks for your help.

Our Grotto

The Grotto

Nestled in a grove of trees as you exit church onto Alpine Road, the Grotto beckons parishioners, students and visitors alike to come and spend time with Mary in prayer...

Grotto Maintenance Fund

Father Paulson has instituted a Grotto Maintenance Fund. We have deposited $ 5,000.00 already towards this goal. St. Mary Church gladly welcomes your contributions with an idea of keeping our Grotto sacred and beautiful.

Please contact the Parish Office for more information.

Father,

May your children who have built through sacrifice this Grotto for Mary know her protection and trace in their hearts the pattern of her holiness.

Bless them with faith and hope, love and humility; bless them with strength in hardship; and self-respect in poverty; bless them with patience in adversity and kindheartedness in times of plenty.

May they search for peace, strive for justice and realize your love, as they pursue their journey through life toward your heavenly city, where the Blessed Virgin Mary intercedes as Mother and reigns as Queen. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen
