student_exchangeSaint Mary Student Exchange Program

Saint Mary School and Parish are embarking on their very first Student Exchange Program. On April 1st, we will welcome fifteen students, three teachers and one principal (Fr. Santhosh) who will be joining us all the way from India. The students come from the school of CMI Public School, Chalakudy. This is a Catholic School managed by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). We have many lovely Saint Mary School families hosting our darling exchange students, and now we are looking for families to help with our day excursions.

The excursions include, but are not limited to: Napa, San Francisco (China Town, Fisherman’s Wharf, cable car ride, BART, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Lindsay Wildlife Museum, the Gold Rush town of Columbia, Pt. Reyes Lighthouse, Muir Woods/Stinson Beach, Marin Marine Mammal Center, 6 Flags Discovery Kingdom, Giants/A's baseball game, Saint Mary’s College, U.C. Berkeley campus, college, and surrounding area, a trip to Sacramento to visit the capital and various landmarks. We want to show our student visitors the lush lands and gorgeous sights that Northern California has to offer.

If you are interested in helping with these excursions, PLEASE call (949) 338-5688 and ask for Suzanne Edwards, or call (925) 935-5054 and leave a message for Suzanne Edwards regarding Exchange students, or you can email Suzanne Edwards at sedwards@csdo.org.

If you are unable to be physically present to help with the day excursions, you can support the terrific program by sponsoring an excursion, donating money to help offset the expenses for the students. You can specify how you wish your money to be spent, for example, that you would like to sponsor the students’ trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium and then donate money for that.

Let’s join together as a welcoming and loving community of parents, parishioners and students to share the beauty of California with our exchange students. Your help is GREATLY appreciated.

Together we can grow in LOVE,

Suzanne Edwards
